POSTED: January 10, 2008 OPEN: Until filled EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, North Carolina Prisoner Legal Services, Inc., Raleigh. Responsibilities include general administrative supervision over NCPLS program and staff, and securing funding to support NCPLS operations. Position reports to the NCPLS Board of Directors. The Director will supervise all staff and provide some direct legal services to eligible clients. The Director has control over the direction of litigation conducted by staff attorneys. The Director must be a member of the NC Bar or become admitted in a timely manner after being hired. Candidates must have excellent legal analytic, negotiating and advocacy skills, ability to communicate well verbally and in writing, ability to effectively manage professional and support staff, ability to work well on a team, and an understanding of current issues in prisoner advocacy.
